Micaela Gardner

I started dancing young and have been actively studying, performing and making dance most of my life. In my late 20’s,I developed chronic tendonitis in my hip flexors. A pathway through physical therapy, (that gave me no relief), led me to Pilates. Within a few sessions, Pilates rescued both my pelvic alignment and my dance life. The work pointed out some dangerous postural habits and taught me a new approach to moving safely and with power.

I was certified to teach the mat work not long after my rehabilitation and have enjoyed teaching and sharing Pilates for many years since.

My classes are a blend of the classical mat work with a developed hybrid approach and many variations to keep it both interesting and therapeutic. Healthy alignment and building awareness concerns me and features in my teaching. Exercises are accessible with easily available modifications to suit each body. My goal is to build balanced, centered bodies; to help my clients find and activate their core strength in support of healthy, easeful joints; and to guide my students toward a painless and vital body.

I am happily available for private mat sessions.

I really enjoy tailoring the work to support an individual’s particular needs or limitations. It is my service and honor to provide instruction for more fluid mobility, improved posture and well being for all my clients.

My practice is open to and beneficial for all bodies of any shape, size or ability!

Who looks inside, awakes…”
